Jordanian Seismological Observatory records 5.9-magnitude quake in Cyprus

Amman, November 12 (Petra) – The Jordanian Seismological Observatory of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources recorded on Wednesday evening a quake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale that struck Cyprus at 5:23 p.m.
Observatory head Ghassan Suwaidan stated that the main quake was followed by several aftershocks, with magnitudes ranging between 2.9 and 4.0 on the Richter scale.
Suwaidan noted that residents in northern Jordan reported feeling the tremor.
